Turned Bowls Made Easy was released in November of 2004. Thanks to many of you, this DVD has been successful way beyond whatever we hoped or expected. Based on feedback from you, the customer, we filmed another DVD in March, 2006. Our second DVD, Beyond the Basic Bowl: Advanced Bowl Techniques is now ready for distribution. We have worked hard to make Turned Bowls Made Easy different than any other video out there. What makes it so different? Well first of all, it has me in it. But more importantly, we have made this bowl turning DVD as comprehensive as possible. It is also longer than just about any other DVD out there, even some two disc sets. There are over two hours of bowl turning information! So what does this thing cover exactly? Below is a list of the segments we have created for your viewing pleasure.
Introduction - we had to have one so you know who the heck I am.
Chainsawing - Choosing a log, the chainsaw and other equipment, safety when sawing, sawing techniques for different bowl blanks.
Bandsawing - Marking the slab cut during the chainsawing operation, sawing it out on the bandsaw, safety.
Rough turning. Mounting the blank on the lathe, cutting techniques, safety, preparing the blank for storage while drying.
Sharpening. Do I need to say more?
Form discussion. What makes a good bowl, and how do we determine shape.
Finish turning. Mounting the dry blank on the lathe, cutting techniques, a tiny bit of sanding. Who wants to watch a lot of sanding?
Finishing off the bottom. How to turn the bottom of the bowl so that people will say, "How'd you do that?!?" Discussion of three different techniques.
Oiling and Buffing. How to finish off your bowl for a beautiful shine.

International Customers!
There is no regional coding for the Turned Bowls Made Easy DVD. However, there may still be compatibility issues with NTSC vs PALS formatting.
For those of you who are ordering from a foreign country, international orders will all be charged the same shipping as domestic orders, and will be shipped via air mail through the USPS. There are options that might be a little faster for you, but even the priority mail which would almost double the price in most cases only shaves one day off the estimated time of delivery. However, if you want to try and get it faster, please write and let me know.
