Bill has been teaching woodturning classes in various settings since late 1995. During the '95-'96 school year, he taught for Albert LeCoff and the Woodturning Center in Philadelphia as the instructor for their outreach program to inner city children. He also taught classes for Woodcraft in their Bensalem store for two and one half years. Since March 1998 he has been offering classes in his own shop on a one to one or two to one ratio. Adult students use a Poolewood Euro 2000 lathe, and for the children, a Vicmarc minilathe. Since he began classes in his shop, he has had students from as far as Washington state, Ontario Canada, New Hampshire, and North Carolina.

The curriculum is determined by the student. Classes are offered in bowls, spindles, vessels, and are well suited for beginners or those wishing to improve their basic skills. There is nothing fancy or arcane, just good basic skills.

Wonderful Wood is located in eastern Pennsylvania, just west of the Lehigh Valley. There is easy access from the PA Turnpike (NE Extension), Rts 78 and 22. We are less than 30 minutes from the Lehigh Valley International Airport, and about 90 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport. Inexpensive accommodations are available one mile from the shop at the Super 8 Motel. Previous students have rated it as clean and affordable. We will provide contact information on request. People who like it a little ritzier can stay down the road in Fogelsville. Lunch and dinner with the family (or as much of the family as is around) is included with the price of the class.

Classes are offered at an hourly rate, although it is strongly suggested that the student plan on spending at least four hours. Out of towners usually come for one to two days. Please contact us for current rates and schedules.
